Weather Station Parts and Operation
Weather Station Parts ISS Wireless Communication with Console

The Console, is the "brain" of the Vantage Pro2+ Wireless Weather Station! It collects, processes and stores all weather data which are transmited by the outdoor unit ISS where most of the sensors are located. It also contains the "datalogger", which is the first level data storage unit of raw weather data before they are processed by the weather server.
The serial datalogger unit, is embedded into the console and stores all the raw data transmitted by the outdoor unit, ISS. It is connected to the computer via the cable to a RS232 serial port. The ISS unit is installed outdoors. In the picture above, you can see the transmitter, the rain collector mechanism (the funnel rain collector cover has been removed) and the radiation shield on the lower part, which contains the temperature and humidity sensors.
